Kratom Strains And Effects

Countless people across the world are learning about kratom in 2020. With so many strains, its important to understand which strain is right for you. Unlike synthetic opioids, kratom’s chemical composition is complex, and the effects of this composition are dynamic.

Its main alkaloids are mitragynine, paynanthine, speciociliatine, and the more minor 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-HMG). Kratom’s neurochemical complexity is echoed in its physiological effects.

It is generally understood that at low doses (< 1 gram), kratom “can boost energy and enhance mood,” whereas at higher doses kratom is sedating, and may have anxiolytic qualities.

The following table serves as a comparative base for some of the most popular strains of kratom on the market.

  1. Hi, I have to say that I am so greatful for Kratom. It’s helped my pain and anxiety tremendously. I fractured my spine 4yrs ago and had major surgery to fuse my spine together and remove the bone shards floating around in my back. Because of this I was left with a great deal of pain and anxiety. My doctor had me on some major strong narcotics such as oxycontin, morphine and fentanal patches. My body was a mess. I heard about Kratom from a friend that suffers from crinic pain. He said that he had cut his opiate meds in hkf and was working on cutting them out all together. I ordered some Sumatra red and green maylay, and WOW! What a gift. It controls my pain to such a degree that I rarely havrbto take any opiates and I am completely off anxiety meds. Kratom has literally changed my life. I have freedom from so many narcotics that kept me sick. Now I feel like me again. Kratom rocks!
    Thanks😀

    1. Hi i am wondering if Kratom becomes addictive? I’m afraid to use it daily as I have that kind of personality so I am wondering if I used this to get off one thing if it would be better or just become another addiction ?? Does anyone have experience with long term use and the effects ?

      1. Kratom is about addictive as caffeine but it’s better to space out your usage and like anything don’t use it everyday.

        1. Kratom is most definitely more addictive then coffee. I do believe in the use of kratom but not down playing its addictive possibilities.

      2. I’ve been taking Kratom for 2 years now.. I suffer from fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and severe RA.. I was prescribed 30mg Oxycontin.. I started out with 10’s and over the years graduated to 30’s.. After over 10 years of either vicodin or oxy’s the feds change the laws on dispensing opiates. My Dr. decides that he’s going to start me on Methadone.. I told him there was no way I was going on something like Methadone.. I started looking for alternative medication..of the non pharmaceutical variety.. I accidentally stumbled onto Kratom. I was fortunate to have found a vendor who was helpful and honest.. I’ve shopped around but to see how his product stood up to the .com’s out there.. No contest. I ‘ve been with him ever since..I change strains dialy. I have found several strains that work great for me and I have never had a problem with the loss of effectiveness.. I have ran out before and the worst problem for me was a headache that went away for the most part by drinking strong coffee.. I personally know someone who is a recovering junkie. Her plan was to use the kratom when she was unable to acquire heroin… The Red Horn she was taking kept her withdrawals to almost none.. While she was recovering from surgery she had she used the kratom for about 3 weeks.. The kratom was satisfying her junkie needs and she was detoxing and didn’t even know it.. I can’t say my experiences will be the same as yours but …

        1. I have used Keaton off and on and love the pain killing effects. However have not found a good online supplier – what do you recommend

      3. Yes. If you have an addictive personality. I’m going through it now. I started using the Kratom to get through horrible Suboxone withdrawals. Now, I need to raise my dosage to get the same effect as in the beginning. I’m not telling anybody not to take it, that was just my experience. I’ve come to the conclusion, just with me, that I can’t take anything. Not a pill, not a drink, absolutely nothing. Anyway, I’ll shut up now. God Bless anyone who’s going through this.

      4. I got addicted to kratom because I did not follow the rules and took too much too often. Make sure you take a couple days off every week, don’t take too many multiple doses a day, and you’ll be fine. I’ve heard some people say they found their dosage for kratom, take it every day, and have never had to go up on it. All I can say is, that’s not what happened with me, I got used to the dose. However, the people here who have posted about taking the same amount every day-that sounds fine and healthy to me. Hope it works out for you!

    2. I’m so grateful also I’ve been taking it for 4 years now no narcotic pain medicine I have a crushed vertebrae and this has saved my life gives me an up lifting mood about life no depression thank you thank you

    3. Ella, I took Lyrica for my Fibromyalgia and ended up getting anxiety attacks from it. I had never had one before this medicine. I also take Hydro (for over 9 years now) for my pain and want so much to go all natural. I just got some of the Ben-something’s and some green Malay. I am 5’9″ and weigh 210lbs. I’m not sure how much I should take or how long it will take to be effective on a daily basis. I also don’t know whether I should stop my hydros cold turkey or not. I took 2 of the Ben’s this morning and it took the edge off of my pain but it still was bad enough that I just had to take my hydro. Can you tell me how many you took of each and how often. I’m not asking you to tell me what to take just asking your doses so I can try to figure out what I might start with.

    1. I have not tried any whites but find unless it is pure reds it cause me to experience anxiety. But you say it helps yours. Interesting.

  2. I have seen Kratom help many people going through withdrawal symptoms. People should pay attention to different strains and how those strains can help with different situations. I’m writing a long blog article about the effects of Kratom for opiate addicts and how it has helped people going through the withdrawal phases. Does anyone have any personal stories to share about themselves or someone they know? Or maybe just personal knowledge on Kratom and it’s effects? I’m trying to make a real collaborative effort and see things from many different perspectives. Your comments are always appreciated. Thanks!

    1. Yes. I was a heroine addict from 2012 – 2014. Used kratom when I moved out of state to run away from my addiction. I moved to where I knew I knew no one and couldnt get it. A friend saw kratom at a head shop and it said it helped opiate addiction – IT DID. I went through w/d but only felt about 10% of it. If i would have known at the time to up my dosage I would have experienced very little w/d. I stayed off heroine for years, started on OXY 30’s about 6 months ago. Kicked the habbit a week ago using Kratom – felt only the warm tingles on my skin going through the W.D – i am now clean and use kratom to help improve my mood while my body gets back to normal. Kratom is a complete god send to anyone who is addicted to opiates – it takes away the w/d – its up to you at the end of the day, to fight the WANT to get high – because it takes away the physical dependency – it gives you a real chance to fight it get clean and have a normal life again. I wish anyone fighting opiates would use this. BUY 250 GRAMS ONLINE FOR 20.00 – buy gel capsules off amazon, FIGHT THE ADDICTION. It’s so easy and its a god send.

      1. Hi JP, I’m wanting to try Kratom pretty much for the reasons you have. Can you tell me which kind you used? I’ve been reading about this for days now and one person says “use red vein kratom” while another says ” use green vein” then another will say use “Bali” and so on. I don’t want to use the wrong kind.

        1. red vein kali is the best kratom i’ve ever used…broke my neck in 2008 in a motorcycle accident had my neck fused from C-3 to C-7 and my back was hurt too…since 2010 i’ve had 7 surgeries…i was on a high dose of oxycodone 20mg 1-4x’s day and opana extended release 2x’s a day…after 7 years and talk of upping my dose to 30mg oxycodone i found kratom and have been using it for 10 months…i did not have any withdrawal symptoms when i transitioned and my life has been awesome since

        2. I hope you have found some success w your kratom vein and strain hunt. I was a long time heroin addict. There are a few things you should know. reading everyone’s advice does help to get understanding. Bali is one of the best 2 come off of heroin with. Once you level out Bali will more than likely become a nighttime strand for you. I find a good green gives me a very familiar feeling that the first hour of a moderate dose of heroin gives you. the upside is you will not feel like the back-end of your heroin dose with a green. Unless you dose too high. That’s going to be your key is Finding your dose there are so many factors that come into play with kratom so if there is ever a specific question about it and just ask

        3. Stop reading and do it, doesn’t matter what kind (red and bali are good for it). Did the worst of the worst for ten years and I haven’t touched the bad stuff, or seriously even wanted to touch the bad stuff, after the first day of kratom.

        4. Don’t mean to butt in your best bet would be regular Bali at first then try other strains once you beat the habit I’ve been taking it for 4 years and Bali worked best for me no pain meds here I buy a pound a month and get 4 oz of different strains each time but Bali would work best for you in my opinion..

      2. My backstory is I have chronic pain and back problems. I was on opiates over 10 years, I moved out of state and at that time I was on patches and Percocet, dr took me off patches but didnt change pills, switched to a new dr., this dr changed percs to roxy but didn’t change mg. Pain got bad, I got bad for a couple years 😞 I decided I was done, I felt like I was living in my own prison, I was worried about money, my kids, and my life. I got put on suboxone, I got myself down to half what I was prescribed within month and saved rest. 3 months later I moved out of state again, this time not to my hometown! I have been going for 4 months on what I had saved up and have got myself down to half a strip daily (and use a lot of topical pain relief). I have a week left and will not be able to wean myself off all the way or deal with the withdrawals of suboxone either. So I searched to find best strain and dosage and found this and wanted to post my story as well. I have full faith and believe this will be the final solution and I will have my life back fully… wish I would of know years ago!

      3. 16 year IV heroin addict. I was able with a Red Vein to not only quit heroin but all opiates and non narcotic pain meds. I smoke less cigs and now enjoy my life. This medicine will save your life. The question is are you ready?

        1. I was a heroin addict nine years and several years on high doses of methadone…kratom utterly got me off with realitive ease! I like the red veins like Thai or a green Malay but they all work great and like pot should check the Times of harvest because different strains are better at certain times of year. I also suffer from bipolar 1, add, bpd, crippling depressive boutes, and persistent anxiety all of which kratom has helped with miraculously. this is the real fucking deal

    2. I am an opiate addict of around 12 years. It was around 9 years of pain pills into a couple years of heroin. I had been sober off everything for 18months…and started taking pain pills again. I am an addict. I know where pills lead me to. I had heard about Kratom for years. I finally bought some when I caught myself craving Heroin again because the pills were not enough. I am really impressed. I am new to this and just finding out there are different strains for different things. I bought whatever was on the shelf….the one strain, choice of capsule or powder in our small town. It was the Maeng Da. It was all right. I just got to a bigger city and got white vein and red vein. Morning and night. Honestly….I feel like I found a new drug. All my cravings are gone. I am satisfied. That hunger is gone. I feel good. My body dont hurt. I feel a since if being high off opiates, yet I know I’m not and am able to look people in the eyes. I’m not sluring. Fully functional. Honestly amazes me….how much it makes me feel high yet a cleaner high. I am very impressed.

      1. Narcotic free at last

Maeng da by far-depending on your usage dose is adjustable. It has been my experience that less is better meaning the more you take, the more sedative effect you will get. A level teaspoon every 4-6 hours the first 2-4 days should get you over the hump and after that, it’s totally up to you depending on what kind of effect you want. Kratom helped me tremendously and I would recommend it highly for anyone trying to kick the the habit of narcotics

    3. Narcotic free at last

I was introduced to kratom by a friend while trying to kick the habit of everyday use of narcotics ranging from Percocet, Vicodin, and lortab. I was taking anywhere from 6-10 10 mg tabs a day. I did not like the way it was making me feel and the person that I was becoming(short tempered, agitated). Not to mention the expense and the guilt I was feeling. My first purchase was the maeng da and I was totally flabbergasted that this stuff was available legally. I had many periods of withdrawal prior to discovering kratom and anyone who has had a narcotic addiction knows exactly what I’m talking about. I am now narcotic free and take 1/2-3/4 of teaspoon 1-2 times a day mostly for the energy effect. I would swear by this stuff. Please if you are trying to kick narcotics, try kratom. You won’t be sorry.

  3. I’m literally in tears right now after reading everything I’ve read on here. I feel like I have a slice of hope. I’m 30 yr old female, dealing with chronic back pain. I’ve gotten multiple injuries in the last 10years from motorcross & ATV riding. I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression as well. Nothing I do will help with my pain, anxiety & depression. I can not take opioids at all. I’ve tried Oxy, percs, etc etc but they make me really really sick. I throw up for hours even when there’s nothing left in my belly. Adderall used to help me be me. Peppy, always on the go, highly productive. I started abusing Molly 2 summers ago for 3 months, daily then quit that cold turkey. I think something happened then; adderall no longer worked for me. That’s when my high level anxiety kicked in as well. I find myself walking around aimlessly when all I want to do is be productive. These days I’d be lucky to get 3 things done around the house. I can’t focus, I am forgetful , always tired, feeling sluggish and lazy, no motivation to do anything. I can’t pick myself up like I used to. I feel like a burden to my husband and it kills me.
I want to give kratom a try…if Opioids make me sick, will Kratom make me sick? (not sure if I’m allergic to all but I know I can’t take suboxone, oxycodone,OxyContin, Percocet) I will try and do anything. Can someone please help me with what strand I should get for my pain, depression, anxiety ? (It’s hard for me to fall asleep at night but I really really need something that Can pick me up . I can always take ambien to go to sleep). What is a reputable vendor I can get from? How to take and how much to take? Please someone help me. I’m so desperate. I miss the old me, I don’t even know myself anymore. Thanks in advance for any input you might have!

    1. Hello,

I have had kind of similar issues to yours for the past 10 years, and I’ve tried many things myself (including kratom).

While kratom does help with these issues, the effects dont last very long unfortunately (~2hrs), and you really cant take it much without building tolerance (possibly addiction). It may be useful if you want to use it 2-3 times a week to get things done, but I wouldnt go much beyond that. If you go on reddit.com/r/kratom you can find good vendors and a bunch of other info.

Personally the things that have helped me the most are: exercise (particularly HIIT), meditation, high quality green tea (costco sells a good japanese green tea), magnesium taurate(to help sleep). I’d imagine yoga would help you a lot as well but I’ve not done much myself to say.

      Hope this helps a bit.

If you need a little more info about anything I listed let me know.

If you go on the kratom subreddit you can find good vendors and a bunch of other info (there’s also one for quitting).

Typical dose is like 2grams (~1tsp). What I have done is just put is directly on my tongue and swirl around a bit before drinking a lot of water, some people like to mix it though since it is quite bitter tasting.

      Hope this helps a bit.

    3. Its true kratom is a life saver felt very little w/d from opiates i started eith bali 2 to 4 capsules and this was low grade kratom i got from a head shop.it helps with w/d so much.i plane on seeking out high grade high quality tea.im just not sure where to go.but yes has to b the best tjing ive tried for w/d

    4. I’m an adult who has been recently diagnosed as being on the Autism Spectrum. My original diagnosis as a child was Severe Attention Deficit Disorder. As I’ve grown up, my hyperactivity, depression, and anxiety have grown up too.
I regularly take Adderall (a stimulant) and Hydroxyzine (an anti-histamine which has the effect of reducing some of the over-stimulating chemical in the brain, reducing anxiety), and I’ve had to come up with new coping mechanisms to deal with my symptoms. The one symptom I’ve been able to do nothing about is Depression.

I’ve found Kratom to be extremely useful for breaking myself out of a deep depression. When all I want to do is sleep, or when I want to drink myself into oblivion, I do a moderately large dose of Kratom instead.
The dis-associative and euphoric effects can be very strong in larger doses, but even smaller doses (1-2 grams) have the effect of staving off the depression which plagues me.

I would suggest taking half a gram in the mornings and a larger dose (1-2) grams of something sedative and euphoric in the evenings before bed.

You can get really high off of the stuff too, and I do sometimes take upwards of 7 grams. Doing so sincerely helps me deal with the kind of depression I would otherwise need Shock Therapy to deal with.

    5. Hi i just wanted to comment on here because kratom has helped me to stay clean off opiates and takes care of my fibromyalgia pain that caused me to take the opiate pain medication to begin with that ended with me on Heroin. It has also helped with servere depression and anxiety caused by going off the drugs. Its an absolute godsend. I dont know where i would be without it

    6. Hey Jane.
      I read your backstory.
I would like to suggest to you maeng da. Gold, or green…
I have chronic pain and anxiety without my Kratom..
With it I am a efficient functioning member of everything I want to do.
I started out with 8g a day 2 – 4 times a day. I can feel my pain come back when it’s wearing off but my head is able to deal with the pain cause of the Kratom….
I’m now at 12g 2x a day of gold maeng da.
Before bed, I may have another tea, but only 6g or so…
I’ve been taking g Kratom now since Aug 2015 and I am so grateful for having a life because of it.
      Do it.
      Peace

      1. Hi Amanda! You are the first person I’ve seen that takes kratom daily. And 2X at that. After taking naproxen, soma and vicodin daily twice a day for the past 3 years I was desperate to get off all the pharmaceuticals. They were barely taking the edge off my pain and I was becoming increasingly worried about what they were doing to me internally.A friend suggested I try kratom so I started taking it for my pain about 2 months ago and have found it to be the best thing. It not only helps eliminate my pain and give me more physical and mental energy, I feel better knowing it is natural. I am a bit concerned about my daily use though. I keep reading that it shouldn’t be used but 2-3 times a week. I’ve only tried the Maeng da since it does what I need and I find the effects last from 4-6 hours. So here’s my question…have you found any adverse side effects or issues taking it 2x/day for over a year that I should perhaps be aware of? I’m very in tune to my body and feel good about the kratom. Thanks!

    7. If you get sick off of opiates, like I do, you will probably get a little nauseous from kratom. As odd as it sounds , if you take benadryl with it or a little bit before you will not get sick….same with opiates.. .I could never take them because I would be throwing up for hours. Then a friend introduced me to benadryl and I became an opiate addict :/ I was all to get off of them with ktlratom, but I still always take my benadryl with it.

    8. I am on my 5 day suboxone detox been on it 10 years !!! I read about kratom told
My dr I want off subs ! Said order kratom ! I did I have mild symptoms!!! Nothing I can’t deal with ! My pain and the withdraw is what kept me on subs!!! Wish I would do discovered kratom a lot sonner! I could of prolly saved my sisters life too ! She od from heroine !! I was addicted to pain pills ! Spread the word kratom can get u off opiates trust me if I can do this anyone can don’t listen to people with their horror stories ! They are prolly the FDA dr or pharmacudial companies that don’t want u to know about kratom! I was told get the red vein

    9. If your taking ambien this could be having residual effects. You should have blood work drawn to make sure your not deficient somewhere esp. vitamin D3 level. Then get a good juicer and start juicing multi vegetables as most of us are nutritionally deprived. You need to feed your body properly if you truly want to feel better. This Kratom is apparently good for detoxing from drugs but you don’t mention an addiction ,so I would definitely look into a healthy diet. Food today is full of chemicals and pesticides also overly processed. D3 is Essen. To your well being and virtually in your DNA making it extremely important to have proper levels. Well good luck!

  4. I have a dumb (but related) question:
00 capsules contain 5g of product
    5 grams = teaspoon
Why does it take 3 capsules to fill a teaspoon?

      1. Not to be stupid, but when you all say 00…Are you all meaning just 1 capsule? Or what are you all meaning? I just started taking the Red Mangda, I’ve had severe migraines for around 16 yrs now and where they are every day all day, never stop, I never get any relief. I recently in the last yr in a half got diagnosed with seizures and epilepsy, in the last 16 yrs all my doctors and specialists would have found them except they never did an EEG, only just then and it showed the seizure activity is all where I have my worse debilitating painful migraines are! I have been hospitalized, I’ve had doctors think even say right to me that they think I’m lieing about my pain and I’m just out for pain pills. My pain has gotten so bad now that I’ve gone to Neurologists that say I’m beyond their expertise…I was blacking out due to seizures, but it was before I was diagnosed with them and my fiance called 911, I don’t even remember everything that happened and they just said I was having a pain attack. The paramedics that came to our house kept saying I was fine, just was street drugs did I take and how much did I drink…Ridiculous! I’ve gotten Bottox for my migraines X3 that 32 shots in my head, neck, shoulders, right on the bone…I have degenerative disc disease in my neck and down my spine, bulging discs in my lower back, I’ve gotten numerous numerous injections while I was awake in those Ares, and in my forehead. I hate anaesthesia, so my pain management specialists let me go without it. Now I moved from the West Coast of Florida to the East Coast to try to get more help from friend’s family and it’s just got my anxiety HORRIBLE, depression the worse, have no energy, they make me feel like I’m just a complete failure as a Mom. I can’t concentrate on a thing, my son has ADHD horribly, ODD, anxiety, depression, borderline bi-polar and here my friend’s family thinks he’s just a very bad child. He’s not, but I can’t find new specialists for him or myself here that take Medicaid! So I’m 33 yrs old how many times a day and how may can I take of these a day, Do you know? AND, do you think the Red Mangda is right for me to take? Or anyone? I need absolute pain relief!!! Right now I am taking Tramadol 50mg x 2 plus Excedrin Migraine x 3 or 4, & I take that every 3 hrs and barely any pain relief at all. Tramadol is the #1 pain killer doctors have always given me, it doesn’t work anymore, Fioricet with and without codeine I have been on. Now, I have had my last Neurologist ask me what has helped me in the passed I said Vicaprophen, she gave me 10 pills and gave me the lowest dose, then I called in a couple days and said I took those with the tramadoland they didn’t work, so she gave me a script for oxys 5mg the lowest dose again!!! I took 6 to equal 30 mg to be the same as I’ve taken before and still I was played up in bed I excruciating pain. That was that last time I got any other pain med from her besides Tramadol. Now in the last few months it’s been hard to get a hold of her go to find out she’s sick and stopped seeing patients and now closed her office. Also, my son is 8 yrs old, all meds he has taken his metabolism is so high he has had to take an adult dose of it. Like he’s taken trazadone between 75-100 mgs to help him sleep at night, the only reason why he isn’t taking it anymore is because he isn’t seeing that doctor anymore. Sorry for such the long message, I figured if you all know most or kind of most of my story maybe I could get the best advice as possible and I do thank you all for all your stories, that’s what helps me get through.

  5. Ok so I’m going to give some thoughts on the pain aspect. I have herniated c6 c7 and its excruciatingly painfully. I haven’t taken pain meds in a few yrs only advill. I found out about the kratom and bought so green mang de and while it’s amazing for energy and anxiety, it does nothing for my pain, I have also tried the red mang de and my thoughts are the same. I also heard someone say something about it lowering blood sugars and il have to tell u I’m a diabetic and it Does Not lower your BS, it raises it, and by a big rate.
I have been on suboxone for almost three yrs now, taking 16mg a day and I’ve been on kratom daily for three weeks now and last week I decided to try and taper off the suboxone, so I started by taking half my normal amount, then a few days later I halfed that, and now, looks like I forgot to take it this morning, so if that tells u anything. Also I have not felt a single bad withdrawal or side effect in my taper down off subs

    1. How are you doing today? Are you off the subs? I am trying to get off subs and taking 2mg per day and want to jump off soon, recommendations? Thanks

    2. I use reds for pain but I had to try many before I found a few that worked. It sounds like your pain is much worse, have you tried extracts? The only problem with extracts is they can ruin your tolerance to plain leaf powder so you must only use them occasionally. Also they are missing some alkaloids so it’s best to mix them with some powder.

My lab tests are so much better since kratom! My cholesterol has never been better.

Congrats on getting off sub’s. I no longer need pain medication.

Also if you go on reddit to the sub: kratom there’s a list if the best vendoirs and prices. You can order lots if samples. Plus the natives are friendly and there’s tons of information.

    3. I found too I gone off of my Suboxone to quit using the kratom.. And it does help as far as paying I still get wicked bad charlie horses at night but they said that’s a deficiency of potassium.. Butt I stupidly lost my Suboxone for 2 weeks and this is the only stuff that actually works but me and I am really hard to please I hate that but it’s fortunate that my addiction was not severe and illicit drugs but yet I found myself Lion on a lease 30 milligrams to get me by at the very least of an oxy or anything in that department.. Dispositivos right now I feel so I’m going back on the quote on because it is too expensive so I’m just myself wanting to balance the two is suboxone going down on it Kratom to be able to use it but not everyday because it is expensive also…. thank you

      1. .. just want to make a comment that when I said I’m going down on stuff I meant I’m going down on my Suboxone use and I haven’t tried every single Kratom one I have got myself quite a few of them and Some Kratom make you raise your anxiety levels up at times meaning stimulated it also helps a lot with my IBS irritable bowel syndrome..withdrawals yes..use less Suboxone oh.. And it did raise my blood pressure when I went to go get my teeth out they checked my blood pressure.it was high and it never is.regardless if I’m having a panic attack… and I used it for that too (panic attack..I didn’t knowtice any difference…)also I still needed some Tylenol threes after having 14 teeth out…unfortunately I don’t think anything opioid like works unless you get rid of Suboxone in your system.. it takes forever for that s*** kicked out so face the fact that you might have to be off the Suboxone a few days more than normal to have anything affect you if you’re unfortunate like me …it takes more than just a couple of days for the subs to get out of your body …before you . KK opiate and it really works well for you without it being an oxy 80 cause that might work for you but take a chance again.. period of an overdose.. It’s sad to think that all this stuff at work really very safe I think it’s only word to use on this stuff I know my heart rate has really increased a lot when I was taken kratom on almost every day last month I had energy to spare but yet like anything you can crash.. it probably helps that it taste like s*** even though you can get the capsules but most people I beg to differ.. I think they can I just swallow so much of this stuff before it really gag them.. and I’m not crazy about drinking it I’ve tried 20 different ways of trying to take it. it up or down or whatever the best I can do is pill form toss and wash real quick this is just nasty.. I’ve bet….if people really had a take a lot of powdery substance in they system to get “High and taste it was really Horrible…like Kratom …I bet they wouldn’t be less of a chance of addiction because of the potency ratio how much you really want to put in your mouth before you finally had enough !!!.Let’s face it hell even sex is like that ****LOL LOL LOL*****

    4. curious about how you say kratom raises blood sugar., This is the first Ive heard and I beleive Paul Kemp did a big blog on this!

  6. I’m currently on my 3rd day on red vain with iso extract, I’m a heroin addict “was” and withdraws are not bad at all compared to what I used to have. But I’m having trouble sleeping and my heart rate has increased doctors told me I have tycnacardia due to my drug use. Any recommendations on what strains would help?

    1. I used to take opiates and consider myself an addict even though I do not take them anymore. If I did I would abuse them. Thanks to kratom I don’t think about opiates for pain and or the feeling. If you have clonidine that may help your blood pressure if it is high. Trazadone could help you sleep. I take Alteril sleep aid with 25mg traz now for sleep. try the Alteril and ask your dr. About traz. Sleep is a godsend when having withdrawals. Kratom helps with taking the edge off. Be careful with alcohol for sleep as that can create an entire new issue. Best of luck to you and don’t give up. Your almost past the worst of it!

  7. Nice! What about all the other strains that keep popping up? Such as:

    – the “Horned” varieties (Red Horn, etc)
    – Yellow strains
    – Pucuk

  8. I take 10g of Red vein Bali Kratom twice a day to treat my high blood pressure/hypertension.

High blood pressure is hereditary with me and has to be maintained. Untreated high blood pressure can lead to organ damage, stroke and heart attack.
I have used 5-6 different BP meds in the past 10 years, they all have bad side effects for me, I hate them. But I had to take something because there were no other alternatives.
I searched online for herbs or anything that could lower blood pressure. Using keywords like ‘lowers blood pressure’ ‘lowers my blood pressure’. I discovered a discussion board where someone was saying they had to reduce their intake of ‘Kratom’, because it was making their blood pressure go too low.

    This caught my attention.
I researched Kratom and found many people use it for pain management and anxiety.
I finally ordered some. At first, there was no effect (1/2 capsule). But after increasing the amount I began to feel a difference.
My BP readings averaged 92/101 – 98/107 on an average. Usually higher in the mornings.
Since I started taking Kratom, my BP numbers have been from 117/65 to 125/78.

Kratom literally is saving my life. I feel better. Short temper, anxiety and depression has lessened noticeably.
I understand it may be banned. I will not stop taking Kratom. It is my medicine.

I still think ‘Kratom’ seems like a sinister name for such a beautiful natural remedy for so many human ailments.

    1. Kratom has lowered my high BP as well!
I think your high BP’s you noted were reversed. 92/101? Probably 101/92😝I’m a nurse I had to say something 😊.
I am happy to see someone discuss the benefits of Kratom for hypertension. I had read that it does help. I hate taking any type of pharmaceutical but I was diagnosed with heart failure!!! So I do take CoReg for that and my BP was running 190’s over 100’s!! I was on Lisinopril 40mg and it was still high. My ❤️Dr wanted to add another pill for BP. I started monitoring my BP from home and my readings were amazing. I even went without my lisinopril for a week and it was still good (122/70’s) sometimes lower. It HAS to be the Kratom. I do take it everyday for anxiety and insomnia. The BP meds just drain the life out of you so I hope we can get more people to bring up Kratoms benefits on BP AND blood sugar ( it is suppose to be good to lower blood sugar in diabetic patients) .
      Thank you for sharing 💚

      1. Yes I wrote the numbers backwards. Glad to hear Kratom is helping with BP levels with other people. I’ve posted my story many places, but no one seems to notice. I’ve struggled with so many different meds, doctors visits (no med insurance) it was making my BP worse. I just hope the dose I take stays consistent. But who knows. One day at a time.
        Thanks!

        1. My father has this same issue as well with his high BP, I was wondering do y’all prefer a certain strain for lowering BP or does any kratom in general seem to help?

          1. To manage high blood pressure, stay with red strains of Kratom. Green and white Kratom strains are stimulants, which might increase blood pressure, the way caffeine does. Red Bali Supreme has been the best for me so far. I want to try Red Kali next. I use Kratom in capsule form.

  9. I have RSD, simply put I have a chronic neuro-inflammatory disorder that causes severe pain. I have been tritated down to 15mg. of Oxi-IR 4 times a day. My doctor will continue to take me down and eventually take me off completely. However, this doesn’t help me with my pain. I’ve heard to use a red strain, but I’m not sure which one to take. I’m not looking to get high, I only want pain relief and to be an active member of society.

  10. I have bipolar and anxiety and wondering what would be good for me. I don’t have much energy and plus I have carpal tunnel and arthritis on my back and ankle from injury getting hit by a car. Please and thank u.

    1. I really appreciate that there was a form just like this to be able to get advice from. However, what is the background of the people giving advice and who are they? Are they random people responding to questions from other random people or are their responses to the questions from a source of authority? And what is that Authority? They’re answering questions like doctors giving up prescriptions for medication. Is there a good source book or publication where a person like myself could do some in-depth research?

      1. Unfortunately, there really is no authority. Kratom has not been studied in detail for its medicinal properties. A quick look around any medical journal and the key word kratom will renforce this point.

You are right that many of the facts about kratom are things that random people discovered on their own. It applies to them, and them alone. However, when you get a LOT of random people sharing their experiences, you have something much closer to reality. Doctor’s do this too- it’s called clinical evidence, ie stuff that the doctor’s observed. Not studies, and certainly not stuff from a textbook. But, it works. You’ve probably heard of off label prescriptions. These are a great example of anecdotal evidence being put to good use.

You will not find in depth research, especially now that kratom is illegal to study. If you are worried about non-doctor’s sharing information, kratom is simply not for you. However, I encourage you to look to your own experiences once you start. Green strains are great for energy, but some people get anxiety. Reds put most flat on the couch, but other people feel nothing. There is no formula for kratom, everything you read about kratom is simply an average of all effects reported- what works best for you is what you discover works best through trail and error. Hope this helps.

And Jamaria- if you are prone to mania, I would be careful with introducing new drugs. Even helpful medication taken under the care of a doctor can cause mania in the vulnerable. Kratom will not help your carpel tunnel much, but it will help your back and shoulder. If you need painkillers, kratom is a safer choice, just be very observent with how it affects your mood, energy and most importantly, your sleep.

Bearing in mind these are averages, and may not apply to you:

green strain- more energetic, kills pain, makes socializing easier, euphoric
white strain- best anxiety killer, euphoric, can be energizing or sedating, kills pain (not as well as green on red)
red- kills pain, more sedative, closest to rx painkillers. Don’t expect to be super productive on a red.

But again, whatever works best for you is what ever you find works best. If you go the kratom route, grab multiple strains and try multiple doses.

      2. People are just giving their personal opinions and experiences with kratom. You can do alot of in-depth research on the web, and Reddit has some good sub-forums on the topic. Good luck.
